This is an independent, UK-only guide to the Tesla referral scheme. Unlike multi-brand "sign-up bonus" directories, it covers one thing — the UK Tesla referral — and tries to be the most accurate, best-dated version of that page anywhere, laid out as a clear three-step journey.

Why this site covers one market and one scheme
The narrow scope is a deliberate quality decision rather than a lack of ambition, and it is worth explaining because it is the main reason to prefer a page like this over a bigger one.
Tesla sets referral terms per market, and the incentives that sit alongside an order are national or local. A directory covering thirty countries has to keep thirty sets of facts current, each changing on its own schedule, which in practice means most of its pages are quietly out of date most of the time. A single-market page can be wrong too — but it can only be wrong about one thing, and that is a tractable problem.
The UK also has gates that a generic page will miss entirely, and both bit us in exactly this way:
- The Electric Car Grant excludes Tesla on the manufacturer criterion, not on the £37,000 price cap. Almost every UK guide reports it as a price problem, which wrongly implies a cheaper Tesla would qualify.
- The VED expensive-car-supplement threshold for zero-emission cars rose to £50,000 in April 2026, from £40,000. That single change moves a five-year annual charge on and off some configurations, and it is barely mentioned on referral pages.
Neither of those is discoverable from a template. That is the case for scope.
A correction we have actually made
A page claiming accuracy should be willing to name a time it was wrong, otherwise the claim is decoration.
This site previously explained Tesla's exclusion from the Electric Car Grant as a consequence of the £37,000 price cap — every Tesla trim lists above it, so the grant did not apply. That was true as far as it went and misleading in what it implied, because it suggested price was the binding constraint. The operative reason is the scheme's environmental criterion, which tests the manufacturer: eligibility requires a Science Based Target verified by the SBTi, and Tesla does not hold one. A Tesla is therefore outside the scheme at any price, and no configuration or future price cut changes that on its own.
We corrected the wording across this site rather than only on the page where we noticed it. That is the part worth stating: a single-page fix leaves a site contradicting itself, which is its own kind of inaccuracy.
