Tesla has stopped making V3 Supercharger cabinets — and British sites are reported next for V4
Your UK referral benefit is not money. It is roughly 650 miles of free Supercharging, which means the network is not background detail — it is the thing that actually delivers what you were promised. So a change in what Tesla is building is a change in how your benefit gets paid out.
The one fact here that is not a plan
Tesla has discontinued production of V3 Supercharger cabinets and switched entirely to the V4 platform for all future buildouts. That is a decision already taken, not a roadmap. Every new Supercharger Tesla builds from here is a V4 site.
The most visible proof so far sits in Norway rather than Britain: Europe's first 500 kW V4 site, 28 stalls at Hellerudsletta outside Oslo, open to Teslas and non-Teslas alike. There is no 500 kW site in Britain, and we are stating that plainly because "V4 is here" headlines tend to travel faster than the hardware does.
What is reported, and by whom
Trade coverage reports that existing stations in Britain, France and the Netherlands are queued for upgrade in the second half of 2026. We are labelling that carefully: this comes from secondary trade reporting, not from a Tesla announcement. Tesla has not published a British site list or a schedule, so treat the timing as an expectation and not a commitment.
Two details in the same reporting are worth more than the timeline. New stalls carry longer cables, which makes them immediately usable by non-Tesla vehicles — so expect more sharing, not less. And the pre-assembled "folding" V4 units that debuted in the US in March 2026 are now appearing in Europe, targeting at least 20% lower installation cost. Cheaper installation is the mechanism by which a network actually grows, which matters more to a free-miles benefit than any single site's peak power figure.
