I checked: you still can't order a Cybertruck in the UK (July 2026)

Every few months we recheck the basic claims on this site against Tesla's own UK pages rather than assuming last time's answer still holds. On 18 July 2026, that included the Cybertruck question again: can you actually order one in the UK yet, and if you somehow could, would a referral link apply? Here's exactly what turning up at tesla.com/en_gb shows, and what doesn't change even if that answer ever flips.

What the UK site actually shows

Tesla's UK model line-up at tesla.com/en_gb lists Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X as orderable. Cybertruck does not appear in that list, and there is no UK configurator entry point for it — unlike the US site, where Cybertruck sits alongside the other models with its own build-and-order flow. Switching to the US store (tesla.com, no /en_gb) shows Cybertruck fully configurable, priced in US dollars, for US delivery only. That contrast is the clearest evidence: the UK site simply doesn't offer it, deliberately, not as an oversight.

Why we're confident this isn't a temporary listing gap

Tesla has been public about Cybertruck's regulatory position outside North America — its US-market design doesn't currently meet UK/EU type-approval requirements around pedestrian safety and exterior design, and Tesla hasn't announced a UK-homologated version or a launch date. A missing configurator entry that's also consistent with a stated regulatory blocker is a different thing from a page that simply hasn't been updated yet. We'll revisit this the moment either changes.

A rough sense of what a private import would actually cost

Because the question comes up, here's an honest, rounded illustration — not a quote, and not Tesla-specific, since Tesla plays no part in a private import. Say a Cybertruck lists at roughly $70,000–$100,000 in the US depending on configuration. Add realistic shipping and handling from the US, UK import VAT at the standard 20% rate, and the usual car import duty band, and you're looking at a meaningful percentage on top of the US sticker price before any individual vehicle approval (IVA) testing or modification costs are even counted. These figures move constantly and depend entirely on your shipper, the exchange rate and specific IVA requirements — treat this only as a sense of scale, not a number to plan a budget against.

And the referral question specifically

Even in that private-import scenario, there's no referral benefit anywhere in the process. Tesla's referral scheme is tied to an order placed directly with Tesla in a market where the car is sold. A grey-imported Cybertruck was never a Tesla UK sale, so there's no referral link to open, no code to apply, and no Tesla account credit for anyone involved — not for the buyer, not for whoever's link they might have used.

What we'll do when this changes

If Tesla lists Cybertruck as orderable on tesla.com/en_gb, we'll check whether the standard UK referral benefit (currently 650 miles of free Supercharging on Model 3 and Model Y) extends to it, and update this page with the date we confirmed it — the same honest, dated approach we take with every figure on this site. Until then, our answer stays what it's been every time we've checked: not orderable, so no UK referral applies.

What you can order today, with a working referral

If it's the Tesla-with-a-referral you're after rather than the Cybertruck specifically, Model 3 and Model Y are both fully orderable in the UK right now and both currently qualify for the same roughly-650-mile Supercharging benefit.
