Tesla Model 3 UK referral with local incentives: what actually stacks

A referral link isn't the only UK incentive a new EV buyer might have heard of. Here's exactly which of the other 2026 incentives actually reach a Model 3 order, which don't, and what a realistic combined total looks like if you're eligible for the ones that do.

What you always get: the referral

Order a Model 3 through a referral link and you get roughly 650 miles of free Supercharging, added to your Tesla account after delivery — worth an estimated £70–£100 in real charging, worked out from typical Model 3 efficiency and current UK Supercharging pricing. This one applies to every eligible order, regardless of trim or where you live in the UK.

What doesn't stack: the Electric Car Grant

The government's Electric Car Grant, live since July 2025, offers up to £3,750 off new EVs priced under £37,000. It's a genuinely useful incentive — just not for this car. Every current Model 3 trim, Rear-Wheel Drive through Performance, lists above that £37,000 threshold, so the grant doesn't reach a new Model 3 order at any spec. This isn't a referral limitation; it's a straightforward price-cap exclusion that applies before the referral is even considered.

What might stack, depending on you, not the car: the home-charger grant

Separately, a home chargepoint installation grant — historically worth up to around £500 — has remained available to some UK households, mainly renters and flat-dwellers without dedicated off-street parking. Whether this applies to you depends entirely on your tenancy and property, not on which Tesla or which trim you order. If you rent or live in a flat without a driveway, it's worth checking current eligibility and amounts on gov.uk before you assume either way.

A realistic combined total

Put together for an eligible renter or flat-dweller: roughly £70–£100 from the referral's Supercharging miles, plus up to around £500 from the home-charger grant if you qualify, for a combined value in the region of £570–£600. That's illustrative, not a promise — the home-charger grant depends on your specific circumstances and current gov.uk terms, and the referral's £ estimate moves with Supercharging pricing. If you have off-street parking already, or don't rent, the £500 line simply won't apply, leaving the referral as your only genuine local incentive on this car.

What we're deliberately not claiming

We're not asserting a congestion-charge exemption, a road-tax figure, or a regional council incentive here, because UK vehicle taxation and local schemes vary and change — and we only publish a figure we can source and re-verify. If a page claims a specific extra saving beyond the referral and the two grants above, treat it with the same scepticism you'd apply to a flat "£500 for every model" referral claim, and check the primary source (gov.uk or tesla.com/en_gb) before relying on it.

How to check your own eligibility

1. Confirm your Model 3 trim's list price against the Electric Car Grant's £37,000 cap on gov.uk — as of writing, none currently qualify.
2. If you rent or live in a flat without off-street parking, check the home-charger grant's current terms and amount on gov.uk before you order a charger installation.

The honest summary: one incentive is guaranteed on a Model 3 referral order (the Supercharging miles), one is currently excluded regardless of trim (the Electric Car Grant), and one depends on your housing, not your car (the home-charger grant).
