Search "Tesla referral code UK 2026" and you'll still find pages promising a flat £500 credit for every model. That framing is out of date. Here is what a UK referral actually gets a new buyer today, and how to sanity-check its value yourself.
The benefit is Supercharging miles, not a flat discount
For a new Model 3 or Model Y ordered through a referral link, the UK benefit is roughly 650 miles of free Supercharging, added to your Tesla account after delivery. It doesn't reduce the car's price and it isn't a coupon.
650 free miles, worked out in pounds
Tesla does not publish a cash value for the miles, so we estimate it honestly from public figures. You can redo this with today's numbers:
- A Model 3 or Model Y returns roughly 3.5–4.0 miles per kWh in mixed UK driving.
- 650 miles ÷ (3.5–4.0 mi/kWh) ≈ 163–186 kWh of charging.
- UK Supercharging is typically around £0.45–£0.55 per kWh (varies by site and time — check the live rate).
- 163–186 kWh × £0.45–£0.55 ≈ £73–£102.
So the referral is worth roughly £70–£100 in real-world charging. That is an estimate, not a Tesla-stated figure — efficiency, tariff and Supercharger pricing all move it. Re-check the per-kWh rate on Tesla's UK Supercharging page before you rely on a number.
Why the "£500 for all models" claim is wrong
£500-off has appeared on specific inventory cars, and historically on some other models, but it is not the blanket new-car referral benefit in the UK today. Treating it as universal is the single biggest accuracy gap on the older UK pages.
And it is not free FSD
"Three months free Full Self-Driving" is the US and Canada benefit. FSD isn't road-legal in the UK yet, so the UK referral is Supercharging miles. If a page offers UK free FSD, it's copied US text.
