Tesla referral link vs referral code — what's the difference?
People search "referral link" and "referral code" as if they're different rewards. They aren't — and the confusion causes buyers to hand a "code" to staff without understanding the online rule.
Same referral, two forms
A referral code identifies the owner (for example a short alphanumeric string). A
referral link is that code wrapped in a ts.la/<code> URL. Clicking
the link opens tesla.com with the code already applied.
When to use which
Online: use the link — it pre-applies the code before you configure. In a Tesla store: read the code to the sales advisor. That's the only practical difference.
Neither is a coupon
Tesla's online checkout has no coupon box. This is a referral, and the UK benefit is Supercharging miles, not a percentage off. Older UK pages that tell you to "enter a discount code" are describing something that doesn't exist.
